As much as we enjoy seeing you, we realize your goal is to minimize your visits. There are ways to limit your appointments to cleanings and checkups. Tooth brushing, for example, is an important aspect of maintaining good oral health.
Regular brushing will help you avoid the buildup of materials that can damage your teeth. It can also help you avoid gum diseases, like gingivitis and fight bad breath. Be sure to use your brush often enough and properly.
You should brush two to three times a day with a fluoride toothpaste and soft bristled brush. The average toothbrush’s lifespan is approximately two to three months. If you find the bristles on your brush beginning to fray and spread out earlier, replace it.
Brushing should take two to three minutes. When brushing along your gum line, angle the brush so the bristles will reach difficult to get at areas. Be sure to brush front, sides, insides, biting surface, and the hard to reach back teeth.
At our Fort Collins Family Dentist practice, we will help your keep the sparkle in your smile. You must also do your part, and that begins with conscientious tooth brushing.
